“Your positive action combined with positive thinking results in success.”
Hello my lovelies!
My apologies for not posting anything on Wednesday, but I had a fairly busy day that involved a few exciting things, which I will share fully tomorrow along with a related blog post. In the meantime, I’d like to get started on this month’s favorites and not-so-favorites right away!
Milani Conceal + Perfect 2-In-1 Foundation + Concealer “00 Light Natural” – While this foundation is nowhere near as full coverage as my Urban Decay All Nighter Foundation, it does have great coverage that I consider every day appropriate for myself. I did buy the new, lightest shade, and it did come out VERY yellow-toned which shocked me at first, but because my body has a more warm toned appearance, I was able to make this work nicely. If you are cool toned and pale, please use caution!
NYX Pro Foundation Mixer “White” – Foundation mixers can either go really well or horribly, and I’m happy to say this one performs well. I don’t find it to be super potent, which I prefer, since I can easily go from too dark, to straight up dead looking. Looking at the entire product line, I am fairly impressed with the range of mixers offered, including a warmth mixer, an olive mixer, and a deep mixer, although I do think they should include a golden mixer for deeper skin tones as well, as “deep” appears quite red toned. The product did not change the formula of any of my foundations, but they do offer two mixers that are meant for that purpose. Overall, awesome product for my pasty self.
Maybelline Fit Me Mineral Loose Finishing Powder – I tried this product in my “Trying New Shit Vol. 1” post. It looks absolutely amazing on my under eyes and actually adds some coverage without yellowing my concealer. My skin usually can’t handle mineral makeup, but this powder works great with my skin and keeps oiliness at bay. Bonus, this is one of the few drugstore brands I’ve seen that is striving to include POC in the mix, so while they can still do better as always, mad props to Maybelline.
Maybelline Face Studio Master Chrome Metallic Highlighter “Molten Gold” – Yet another product from “Trying New Shit Vol. 1”, it’s almost like there’s a trend here. I know that this highlighter is intense and seemingly on the dark side, but somehow by the grace of the makeup Gods and Goddesses, this highlighter doesn’t give me a dark cast on my cheeks and glows like a disco ball. We should all be fans of this highlighter.
NYX Tame and Frame Brow Pomade “Brunette” – I also tried this out in my “Trying New Shit Vol. 1” post and was really impressed with it, so it’s safe to say I still am. I’ve previously been afraid of pomades, but this one is super easy to use, is the perfect color, and gives me a much more precise edge than any pencil ever has.
Milani Even Touch Powder Foundation “01 Shell” – I don’t hate this powder, but in my opinion, it’s not something to write home about. I adore M.A.C Studiofix so much that almost any other powder foundation seems disappointing to me. That doesn’t make this powder a bad product by any means, it just doesn’t work for me personally.
That’s all I have for you guys today. Please remember to like, comment, and subscribe, it really helps me out. Also don’t forget to have an amazing end to your week!
