Palette of The Day: ABH Master Palette by Mario

“The true measure of success is how many times you can bounce back from failure”

-Stephen Richards

Hello my lovelies!

I’m very excited to announce that I am now going to create a new series on my blog. A few weeks ago, when I posted my eyeshadow palette collection, I asked you guys what palettes you’d like to see me using. While I didn’t get a lot of responses, it did give me an idea to create a new series where I will use each palette to create a look, and additionally include my thoughts on the palette. This will include thoughts on color choice, ease of use, practicality, and so much more. Today’s first contender is the Anastasia Beverly Hills Master Palette by Mario.

I’ll start by first giving you guys the tutorial on the eye look, so that you can see how I used the palette. Next, I’ll move onto what I think of the palette and the look I was able to create overall.

Let’s Get Started:

Groupon

The eyelids:

  1. Prime and set the eyes with a powder or shadow that best matches your skin tone.
  2. Deepen the crease with “Lula” to add some definition, as well as a shadow to lay down the others on.
  3. Define the crease further with “Violeta”, as well the outer corner.
  4. Grab any black shadow that you own, and intensify the outer corner further.
  5. Wet a dense packing brush and place “Bronx” across the lid. If you have deep set eyes, bring this shadow into the deepest part of the crease. Not only will this make the lid space look larger, but it will prevent unwanted transferring.
  6. Blend out any harsh edges on the lid with the same black shadow from earlier.

Lower lashline:

  1. Mixing “Violeta” and a black shadow, run this along the entire lower lashline, blending downward for a smoky effect.

Other:

  1. Line the waterline with a dark green or black eyeliner.
  2. Highlight the tear duct with a gold toned highlighter or shadow.

Thoughts on This Palette:

Pros:

I love working with this palette when it comes to pigmentation and shadow quality. I think that ABH shadows are (mostly) unbeatable, and I constantly reach for this palette when I’m going out. Every color has beautiful pigment and blends like a dream. I also think that this palette goes together quite nicely, as you can create a look with this palette alone in most cases.

Cons:

A major let down with this palette is the lack of a black shadow and a much lighter highlighting shadow, but these are not an absolute necessity. Some may consider fallout a bad thing, however I do not consider this something that makes or breaks the palette for me. My biggest beef with this palette is that it was only limited edition. I truly feel that this palette would’ve made a great permanent addition, and could’ve been advertised further as a great smokey palette on ABH’s part.

Would I Recommend It:

If you are somehow still able to get your hands on this palette, I would say grab it while you can! I love each shadow in this palette, and feel that it is a great addition to my overall collection.

That’s all I have for you guys today. Please remember to like, comment, and subscribe, it really helps me out. Also don’t forget to have a fantabulous Friday!

Stay beautiful!

    1. Thank you! It’ll definitely be easy for some, but the others will definitely present a challenge. I’m excited to see how they turn out though!
