“Anything is possible once you believe you are worthy of achieving it”

-Jason Pockbrandt

Hello my lovelies!

Hard to believe it’s only Wednesday! I don’t know about you guys, but I’m certain that time has suddenly slowed to a halt this week. Maybe it’s wishful thinking since my state board exam looms nearer every day, or maybe I’m starting to be more mindful of my time. Either way, I’d like to keep it that way!

Do you ever just put on an outfit and feel like a total bad bitch? That’s immediately how I feel with any outfit formula similar to today’s look. Something about a tight mini skirt, chunky boots, and a beanie just transform my vibe into major confidence.

I’ve decided to make my version of a New Year’s resolution by promising myself that I would pre-write more and panic less about having posts to write. I took the liberty of setting up a coffee date with myself every Sunday/Monday Morning to blog, and keeping a notebook full of ideas for future blog posts. I’ve been wanting to include more lifestyle posts in this blog, and I think keeping a list of ideas is a great way to find a subject du jour if I feel like I have nothing to write about. So far, this system is working quite well, and I’m glad I’ve chosen to make this small but impactful change.

What are you guys looking forward to most this year? What outfits make you feel most confident? Let me know in the comments down below! I’d love to chat with all of you more often.

Hello my lovelies!

CottonCandy1

I’m FINALLY putting up an outfit post after a long hiatus! Between my program being done at 4 PM during the week and hitting the gym until 6 PM, there is never enough daylight for me to capture anything worthwhile. I also want to quickly note that I will officially be changing my posting time to 9 AM Central Time, as of this blog post today.

Luckily, having a three day holiday break meant I had an opportunity to grab a few shots of my Christmas Eve outfit. I know, not the most traditional Christmas look out there, but I have been dying to have an opportunity to wear this dress for a year now and I was happy to finally nab that opportunity.

This dress does feature a faux wrap look to it, which is actually my favorite part. I love the look of these wrap dresses, but the actual concept of tying the dress and only having string to maintain the composure of the dress is a little daunting. I decided to throw a belt on top for a little extra detail, and to tie in the black tights and shoes.

Once again, I will not be doing a blog post on Monday, in order to be able to fully celebrate New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. I WILL have a post for you on Wednesday as per usual. It’s going to be a very personal one, but I really want to allow you all into some of the more personal aspects of my life.

Hello my lovelies!

Now that we’re fairly invested into September, I think it’s appropriate for me to begin thinking about Halloween. I know it’s over a month away, but I can’t help it; I love a spooky holiday.

Daphne1

I had decided early on that I wanted to be Daphne this year, and this dress has provided the perfect opportunity for me to do so. It may not be an exact copy, but I can always pass it off as adult Daphne.

As I mentioned in my previous post, this color combo has been a little rough when it comes to putting outfits together, but I’m also loving what I have put out thus far. I so rarely get to pull out this orange duster and this combination has really inspired me to start wearing it a little more often.

Everyone on Instagram was really loving the shoes, so I decided to have them make a second appearance in this post as well. While this color is by far my favorite, there are plenty of other color options, AND they’re currently on clearance at Target, so snatch them up while you still have time!

The dress was a spur of the moment Forver 21 clearance purchase, something I don’t generally do, however with looking for something that could also double as a Halloween costume, I definitely wanted to keep it on the cheaper side. I love that it’s short but balanced on top with the turtle neck (I tucked it in for this outfit) and long sleeves. It’s a very comfortable and flattering dress that I can actually see myself wearing for many occasions.

Hello my lovelies!

Having a purple and orange theme has given me so many ideas for eye makeup looks, but definitely has thrown me for a loop in terms of outfits. The combination itself isn’t hard to imagine, but what can you do when you own practically nothing in that color?

Creamsicle1

I managed to just barely pull something together, but I’m happy with the results. I know, there’s a lot of skin going on here, but can you blame me? I look like a snack and I’m still looking polished at the same time.

Creamsicle2

This color scheme has shown me that I definitely need to get it together and incorporate more orange into my life, because I am absolutely loving that pop of color. The heels were also a diamond in the rough from Target, and I’m so happy to have found them to add to this outfit.

Creamsicle3

As I mentioned earlier, this is a lot of skin. However, pairing the crop top with a highwaisted skirt helps balance out and lend an appropriate amount of skin. Bonus, highwaisted anything makes your legs look miles long.

Creamsicle4

This outfit is a LOT sexier than what I usually post, but sometimes it’s nice to feel sexy at three in the afternoon. Pops of color add a lot of character and vibrancy to something that could’ve easily been functional-but-basic.

“Communication – the human connection – is the key to personal and career success”

Paul J. Meyer

Hello my lovelies!

I’m starting the week off with yet another outfit post, but this aesthetic took a completely different turn compared to last week’s look. In the best way possible, I have no style.

BloggerVibe1

The commonality between my two outfit posts is one singular brand: Wild Fable. I’m genuinely impressed with this line of clothing, from the wide range of styling options to the size inclusivity. For reference, those pants are an extra small. Extra Small. It’s almost like this clothing line had real human beings with feelings in mind when they decided to make this line available to a wide range of guests. I can get behind a clothing line that makes sense of their sizing instead of pulling random numbers out of their ass like so many other brands tend to do.

BloggerVibe2

Earlier in the day before these pictures, a little old man had told me I look like I’m wearing pirate pants. I can see his point, but I think I look more like I order a $15.00 plate of avocado toast and post it on my Instagram. Not that there’s anything wrong with that except capitalism making $15.00 avocado toast a thing.

I really loved the idea of pairing these pants with a graphic T, so I whipped out my unapologetic feminist shirt with what I think is the best message you can give: Raising our children equally. In case you all have selectively skipped my blog posts where I’ve mentioned this several times before, I’m that radical intersectional feminist that your conservative uncle at Christmas hates. I’m also definitely not sorry about it.

BloggerVibe4

That’s the one thing I kept thinking about while editing these photos. I really don’t tell any of you a whole lot about me. I don’t really keep you in the loop with what’s going on in my life. To some degree it’s because I think no one cares, but it’s apparent to me, based on how much engagement other bloggers get when they open up, that I’m wrong. The other part of me is constantly worried about coming off as vain by talking about myself, which is pretty idiotic since this entire blog is for me. It’s amazing that you all can benefit from this blog as well, but this will always be a little piece of me being inserted into the interwebs for my own satisfaction, and that’s not an inherently bad thing.

BloggerVibe5

I haven’t had too much going on in my personal life, but I’ve had a couple amazing things come my way. However, like a lot of things in life, they started with a pretty shitty hiccup.

For starters, I submitted my application for the part time Esthetics program at the Aveda Institute. The good news: I got in. The bad news: Part time was full. In my state of panic I impulsively asked about the full time program, knowing that I definitely could not go to work at the same time and therefore definitely couldn’t afford it. I’m an extremely lucky person with a solid family, and my parents and grandparents offered to invest in my education, likely because they know how crushed I was that I would’ve had to wait another year for the part time program that I so desperately wanted. In short, I get to quit my dead-end job and follow the path I’ve been dying to create for myself in November, and I couldn’t be more excited.

Before school starts however, I’ve got another small thing coming up. Back in mid July, I was contacted by an indie organization called RAW Artists. They do showings around the world of small, independent artists and asked me to be a part of their showcase in Milwaukee. I was initially certain they were full of shit and preferred to err on the side of caution, but 20 crowdfunded tickets sold later, I’m going to be showcasing my work in front of 600+ people, and I still can’t believe I’m typing that out. It’s been stressful as hell and I’ve already had plenty of “oh shit” moments along the way, but I’m confident that it’s going to be worth it, if not for the exposure, then for my own personal achievement.
