Rainbow Pride: Red

Hello my lovelies!

RedRainbowFace

Much like the blue post that I did, this look is a little more dramatic and drag inspired. This may appear a little more orange to your eyes, since I do not really own any truly red shadows. However, I still think this fits perfectly into the red stripe of the flag.

RedRainbowEyes

It’s allergy season around here, so excuse my bloodshot eyes. Although, I guess they really go with the red shadows right?!

Let’s get started:

The Eyelids:

  1. Prime and set the eyelids with a bone shadow or something that most closely matches your skin tone.
  2. Blow out “Safe Word” in the upper and middle crease as a transition shade.
  3. Focus “Charm” in the same area as “Safe Word” to create a more muted orange undertone.
  4. Pack “Fetish” onto the entire lid from inner to outer corner, blending into the middle of the crease as well.
  5. Blend “Dominatrix” onto the outer corner and lower crease for some added definition. Be sure to blend this with “Fetish” on the lid as well.
  6. Place “Deja Vu” all over the lid for an intense sparkle. Don’t be afraid to blend this out into the crease, as the shimmer is dark enough for this.

The Lashline:

  1. Mix “Fetish” and “Dominatrix” Together, buffing across the entire lower lashline. Blend fairly low to add some drama.
  2. Pack “Deja Vu” Across the entire lashline on top of the previous shadows, from outer to inner corner. focus this shadow especially in the middle for some dimension.

Other:

  1. Place a gold toned highlighting shade into the inner corner for some dimension.
  2. Curl and coat your lashes, apply falsies if you prefer. Skip the bottom lashes to keep the focus on the shadow.

That’s all I have for you guys today. Please remember to like, comment, and subscribe, it really helps me out. Also don’t forget to have a lovely Wednesday!

Rainbow Pride: Blue

Hello my lovelies!

BlueRainbowFace
Still not naked

This is looking a little crazy, but while sitting at my desk trying to figure out how to make blue wearable, I thought to myself “does anyone REALLY wear blue eye shadow on the daily?” So instead, I channeled my inner drag queen and went the hell out.

BlueRainbowEyes

This look is perfect for a sunny barbecue or a family photo, clearly very neutral.

But really, if you want to wear this while doing your Target run, who am I to tell you no? Also, what do all of you think of the L’oreal Total Cover foundation? I’ve got mixed feelings about it, but I sometimes feel like it makes me look a little crusty. Let a bitch know what you think.

Let’s get started:

Eyelids:

  1. Prime and set the lids with a bone colored shadow, or anything that works with your skin tone.
  2. Blow out “Safe Word” through the crease and onto the brow bone for a smooth transition shade.
  3. Blend “Poison” over “Safe Word”. Blues can be a little more difficult to blend, so take your time blending this out properly.
  4. Place shadow three directly into the deepest part of the crease for added definition. Don’t worry about packing this shade for opacity, since this look is not meant to be cobalt.
  5. Blend “Swallow” in to the lowest and outermost part of the crease, as well as the outer corner. Pull this shadow into a pointed shape on the outer corner for extra drama. Again, take your time with blending. Much like a black smokey eye, this will start out looking like an unfortunate black eye, but I promise it’ll come together.
  6. Wet a brush and take shadow five “Mermaid” onto the entire lid, all the way into the crease and brow bone area. Take a clean fluffy brush and blend out the edges AFTER this shadow has dried.

Lashline:

  1. Mix “Poison” and “Swallow” together and blend from outer to inner corner of  the lashline, concentrating most of the pigment onto the outer corner. Connect this shadow to the lid as well.
  2. Pack “Mermaid” from the inner corner of the eye to about halfway.
  3. Line the waterline with a blue liner. I chose a darker blue liner for a little more contrast.

Other:

  1. Highlight the tear duct with any white highlighting shade. I used the same one for my face.
  2. Curl and coat your lashes with mascara, apply falsies if you’d like.

That’s all I have for you guys today. Please remember to like, comment, and subscribe, it really helps me out. Also don’t forget to have an amazing Saturday.

Purple Mock Cut Crease Eye Tutorial

Hello my lovelies!

PurpleMockCutCreaseFace

I don’t know about you, but I love the look of the cut crease trend all over Instagram. I think that if done well, they’re incredibly clean and look amazing on almost any eye shape. Unfortunately, I was blessed with a serious lack of space between my brow bone and crease, so I don’t think a true cut crease will ever be in the cards for me. Also, they take SO MUCH EFFORT! I’m all about creating looks that are achievable for anyone, regardless of talent level, and while I have the ability to do a cut crease, a large majority of people don’t.

PurpleMockCutCreaseEyes

Insert: The mock cut crease. I think the biggest trick to achieving this is very precisely winging out the shadows, and placing them a little higher in your crease than normal. Personally, I like to get all messy with my outer corners, so that I’m not worried about intricate blending on the lids. I always do my eyes before my base, which makes creating the wing very easy; I just clean up any mess with foundation. My absolute favorite color is purple. I’ve had purple hair, purple nails, purple accessories, purple clothes, you name it, I probably own it in purple. I’m still holding out for a purple Iphone though, Apple, get with my program.

Let’s get started:

Carli_Bybel_Deluxe_Palette_Open_Flat_1024x1024
Photo via Pranava Beauty
Eyelids:

  1. Prime and set the eyelids with the first shadow. A light shadow like this will help all the colors stand out even more. Always adjust based on your skin tone, or what you prefer.
  2. Mix shadows two and three, and blend into the uppermost part of the crease. Start to create a winged shape at the end.
  3. I borrowed the shade “Androgyny” from my JSC Androgyny palette, and blended that slightly lower into the crease and the outer corner, still following the winged shape.
  4. Focus shadow four onto the outer corner of the lid, and deepen the wing. Unlike most cut creases, we will not be dragging this into the crease, but you can if you want to. The reason I’m not doing this? I don’t want to have to carve out my crease with concealer.
  5. Take the first shadow and Pack onto the inner half of the eyelid. Clean up any messy blending that dragged downward from the crease.
  6. Using any black liner, create a thin bar across the lashline. You can totally wing this out with the shadow as well, but as I’ve discussed before, black wings aren’t really my thing.

Lower Lashline:

  1. Mix “Androgyny” and the fourth shade of this palette, and blend it 3/4 of the way to the inner corner.
  2. Tuck the first shade onto the inner corner and tear duct for a matte brightness. If you prefer a shimmery highlight, you are more than welcome to do so.

Other:

  1. Place a nude or white liner onto the waterline to add brightness and open the eyes.
  2. Curl and coat your lashes, apply falsies if that’s your thing.

That’s all I have for you guys today. Please remember to like, comment, and subscribe, it really helps me out. Also don’t forget to have a beautiful Saturday evening wherever you are.

Golden Halo Eye Tutorial

Hello my lovelies!

YellowGoldHaloFace

It’s 1pm my time, and I’m sitting here finally drinking my morning coffee. Yeah, it’s been that kind of day so far. Today’s tutorial is on a look I wore to a nicer evening dinner with friends, but as always you can really wear this whenever you feel like it.

YellowGoldHaloEyes

Unfortunately, I have to repeat myself once again in a separate blog post for all the people in the back, and this time I’m going to have to be a little meaner about it. I won’t lie to you, I really couldn’t care less what everyone thinks of the products I do or don’t use, because this is not your blog. I am not forcing any of you to look at my posts, and you have the ability to unfollow me if this is such a problem for you personally. If these borderline harassing emails continue, I will be forced to always moderate comments, and remove those of you who have been emailing me constantly about this. The behavior is completely inappropriate at this rate, and I’m not going to waste more time saying the same thing over and over. Consider this your warning.

Back to happiness, I’m sorry to those of you who are not the culprits of this mess, and are just incidentally along for the dramacoaster ride. That lecture is not meant for you, so please don’t worry and feel that it is aimed at every one of you.

Let’s get started:

master-palette-by-mario
Photo via Ulta.com
Eyelids:

  1. Prime and set the lids with a bone colored shadow, or anything matching your skintone.
  2. Mixing “Lula” and “Isabel”, blend these throughout the crease and slightly onto the brow bone. The further toward the inner corner you blend these shadows, the more dramatic this look will become, which is exactly what I wanted.
  3. Pack “Violeta” on the inner and outer corners of the lid, blending out the edges away from the middle. If you’re messy like me, you can always use concealer to clean up the middle, so that the gold shade still pops. We don’t want any muddiness happening, or the shimmer looking dull.
  4. If this is looking pretty insane so far, relax, everything will work out. Halfway through, I almost thought about not posting this and starting over, because I looked like I had black eyes, but once I was finished, it came out great. Halo eyes require a lot of time and detail, so the key is a lot of patience.
  5. Wet a brush and pack “Marina” on the center of the eyelid. I prefer the look to have the shimmer packed all the way into the crease, but this is ultimately up to you.
  6. Use “Violeta” once again to blend out any harsh edges from “Marina”. WAIT UNTIL THE WET SHADOW HAS DRIED, or you will be spreading the shimmer everywhere and letting it dry that way.

Lower Lashline:

  1. Blend “Lula” and “Isabel” across the entire lower lashline to create a transition.
  2. Place “Marina” in the middle of the lashline to emulate what we have on the lids.

Other:

  1. Place “5th Ave” on the inner tear duct for a highlighted effect.
  2. Use a nude liner on the waterline. You can always use whatever color you want, but just know that a dark liner closes the eyes, and a light liner will open. This all just depends on your eye shape.
  3. Curl and coat your lashes, apply falsies if you’d prefer.

That’s all I have for you guys today. Please remember to like, comment, and subscribe, it really helps me out. Also don’t forget to have a lovely summer Wednesday.

Fairytale Forest Eyeshadow

Hello my lovelies!

MagicalForestFace

I went a little crazy once again, but I was really feeling something green. I was mostly inspired by the army green color in the Jeffree Star Androgyny palette, but I needed a few more similar colors, and ended up finding the NYX Perfect Filter Shadow Palette in Olive You.

MagicalforestEyes

For whatever reason, my eyeshadow looks lighter on one side than the other, but after constantly going over it again and checking in natural light, I deduced that they are, in fact, the same, so I’m going to blame that weirdness on my camera and time of day. Regardless, I do not feel that this is a reflection on pigmentation of either palette, because as I said, the eyes look exactly the same in natural lighting, and that’s what really matters to me.

Let’s get started:

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Eyelids:

  1. Prime and set with any skin color shadow.
  2. With shadow one, blend throughout the crease and close to the brow bone for a smooth transition shade.
  3. Blend “Safe Word” through the entire crease for some definition.
  4. Place “Military” slightly lower into the crease and blend once again. This look is mostly a bunch of blending colors together, so be patient.
  5. Pack shadow four onto the outer V of the lid, as well as into the lowest part of the crease, about halfway.
  6. Wet a brush and place shadow five onto the middle of the lid, fusing into the outer corner shade.
  7. Wet the brush once again and place shadow six onto the inner corner, blending in with the middle shade.
  8. Blend out any harsh edges with “Safe Word”.

Lower Lashline:

  1. Mix the first shade of the NYX palette and “Safe Word” and blend all across the lashline.
  2. Mix “Military” and shade four of the NYX Palette, blending onto the outer corner and connecting to the top outer corner.
  3. Place shadow six onto the inner corner and tear duct for some brightness.

Other:

  1. Line the waterline with a nude or white eyeliner.
  2. Curl and coat your lashes, apply falsies if you’d prefer.

That’s all I have for you guys today. Please remember to like, comment and subscribe, it really helps me out. Also don’t forget to have an awesome hump day, and if you’re on summer break, congrats, you earned it!

Copper Liner Eyes

Hello my lovelies!

CopperLinerFace

Today’s look is super simple, but is definitely still quite noticeable. I’m not much of a standard black wing kind of person, but I absolutely love colorful wings, as well as much more subtle brown wings, very similar to the one I have here.

CopperLinerEyes

If you’re like me and just not very good at doing winged eyeliner, I find it best to use an eye pencil to get the job done. I really love using the Colourpop creme gel liners to do wings, as they are a much smaller twist-up-pencil, which makes creating precise lines much easier. It may take a little more work to finesse the liner in such a way that it could fool anyone into thinking you used liquid or gel liner, but I think the effort is worth it.

Let’s get started:

Eyelids:

  1. I did not actually use any eyeshadow palette, since I wanted the focus to be on the copper eyeliner.
  2. Place your favorite bronzer into the crease of the eye, and blend out to create some definition. It is best to blend the shadow on the outer corners in the direction that your wing will also go.
  3. Wash the same bronzer all over the lid to create some color.
  4. With any copper colored eyeliner, create a sharp, mildly thick wing on both eyes.

Lower Lashline:

  1. Using the same bronzer, lightly define the entire lower lashline.
  2. Place a flesh toned eyeliner into the waterline, to create a more awake effect.

Other:

  1. Place a highlighter of your choice, preferably gold toned, into the inner tear duct of the eye for some brightness.
  2. Curl and coat your lashes, apply falsies if you prefer.
  3. Side note: This look would also be beautiful with a brown mascara, however I do not currently own one, so black was my only option.

That’s all I have for you guys today. Please remember to like, comment, and subscribe, it really helps me out. Also don’t forget to have a lovely Monday.

Cool Toned Purples Tutorial

Hello my lovelies!

CoolTonedPurpleFace

Because I am really pressed for time at this moment, I am going to make this introductory paragraph short and sweet by simply saying that I am FEELING MYSELF with this makeup look. I used two of the new Jeffree Star x Mannymua733 collab items with this look, one being the liquid lip “Daddy” and the highlighter “Eclipse”. I’ve never used a JSC highlighter before, and I must say, it’s glowing! I look like I have a purplish disco ball radiating from my cheekbones, and I’m not mad about it.

CoolTonedPurpleEyes

Let’s get started:

SONY DSC
Photo via Lesley Makeup

Eyelids:

  1. Prime the eyelids and set with a powder. I will be using only two eyeshadow brushes for this entire look, so be sure to wipe the first one off in between when you can.
  2. With a fluffy blending brush, blend “Cozy Grey” throughout the crease as the transition shade between the shimmers.
  3. Wet a synthetic shader brush with “Sweet Allure” and pack onto the inner third of the eyelid. Blend this slightly into the middle to start the ombre effect.
  4. On the same wet brush, Pack “sun Tweaked” onto the middle of the eyelid, blending into the first shadow, and extending slightly into the outer third.
  5. Same wet brush again, pack “After Dusk” on the outer third of the lid, blending in with the middle shade.
  6. With the same fluffy brush from earlier, blend out any harsh edges that the shimmer shadows may have created.

Lower Lashline:

1. Repeat steps 3, 4, and 5 on the lower lashline. That easy!

Other:

  1. Line the waterline with either a white or nude colored liner.
  2. Curl and coat the lashes with mascara. I wanted a slightly more editorial look, so I would suggest no lashes in order to achieve this.

That’s all I have for you guys today. Please remember to like, comment, and subscribe, it really helps me out. Also don’t forget to have an amazing weekend!

Neutral Glam Affordable Makeup Tutorial

Hello my lovelies!

I know I sometimes disappear because of being a little under the weather or other things along those lines, but trust me when I tell you, I disappeared for a REALLY awesome reason this time…

IMG_2290

This is Sushi, our new dog! So technically, she resides at my grandparent’s place, but given that my family operates in a group of 6, I consider Sushi to be mine as well. Plus, we’ve bonded over plenty of walks and lots of cuddling. She is by no means a puppy at 5 years old, but she is well mannered and an absolutely perfect fit for our family. Of course, we found her by chance at the local shelter, and she was not at ALL the kind of dog we were looking for, but I think that’s the best way to find your forever pet; no judgement, just looking for the dog that gives the most love, and one that you can love unconditionally in return.

Back to the main topic at hand!

I am returning with phase 2 of an all drugstore look, this time in the neutral-but-glamorous department. ALL of the makeup products are drugstore brands, with the exception of many of my brushes, although I do have a fair amount of drugstore brushes as well. I am actually very pleased with how this look turned out, and I think it would be great for pictures, or possibly even prom!

NeutralGlamDrugstoreFace

You might notice that I have a few dry spots on my cheek and forehead area. This is because I recently had a salicylic acid peel, which causes some peeling of the skin to happen. Don’t worry, it’s not painful or anything, my skin just looks a little rough right now. As such, I used a more luminous and moisturizing foundation, as well as products that are not as mattifying. I was slightly concerned that I would be an oil ball anyway, but I was still fairly dry throughout the day because of the peel. Just letting y’all know so I don’t get yelled at for having a sunburn or something along those lines.

Let’s get started:

Carli_Bybel_Deluxe_Palette_Open_Flat_1024x1024
Photo Via Thebeautybybel

The Eyelids:

  1. Prime and set the lid to brow bone area.
  2. Use shade one to highlight the brow bone. This shade can also be used to clean up any messy blending that occurs.
  3. Take shade two on a large fluffy brush, and blend through the entire crease. This will be our transition shade to help other shadows blend smoothly.
  4. Focus the third shadow into the outer 2/3 of the crease. Try to be very precise with the shadow. While the transition shade can extend to the lid and brow bone slightly, the third shadow should be very focused into the crease.
  5. Place the fourth shadow onto the outer part of the eyelid, in a “C” shape. Blend inward toward the lid slightly to create a smooth transition between the crease and outer corner, as well as the lid shade.
  6. Pack shade five all over the inner 2/3 of the lid, blending with the shade four very gently. You can wet this shadow if you want something more dramatic, but I planned to wear this in the day time, so I kept it a little more toned down and subtle.

The Lashline:

  1. Mix shades two and three, and blend all along the entire lashline, until it is seamless.
  2. Blend shade four along the outer third of the lashline, connecting it up to the shadow on the outer lid.

Other:

  1. Highlight the inner tear duct with shadow six. If you want a more intense browbone highlight, feel free to take this up there as well.
  2. Line the waterline with a nude or white eyeliner. My biggest anti-aging tip is to pull down the skin with a beauty blender or brush, as tugging with your fingers will create wrinkles.
  3. Curl and coat your lashes, apply some drugstore falsies if you’d like.

That’s all I have for you guys today. Please remember to like, comment, and subscribe, it really helps me out. Also don’t forget to have a wonderful Wednesday, and be sure to love on your pets or any animal near you!

Stay beautiful!

Spring Trends: Pink Eyeshadow and Red Lips

Hello my lovelies!

SpringOnTrend

Today’s post isn’t really a tutorial, since the eye look I’m featuring only has two colors. I wanted to show my take on a spring trend that I’m pretty into; Pink shadow and red lips. I understand that the combo sounds a little loud, however I think it’s really easy to tone down the eyes and create something unique to every individual. The great thing about this trend is that you don’t have to use one version of pink. I used a darker, more warm toned blush on my eyes, and paired a pink toned red lip with it. I think this trend is something fun and colorful, yet leans on a makeup classic that anyone can pull off.

One of my favorite things about makeup is that a product meant for one thing, can be used for so many other things. For my eyes, I used a blush in my crease, and a cheek highlighter in my inner corner, making this look completely customized toward what I like.

I know a few of you are probably tired of my multiple pink shadow looks by now, but I’m just obsessed with a little pink-eye chic (only kidding).

Wearing The Unwearable

Wearing The Unwearable: Red Eyeshadow

Hello my lovelies!

WearingTheUnwearableRedFace

In honor of International Women’s Day this past Wednesday, I decided to create an eye look featuring red toned eyeshadows. In case some of you aren’t aware, red is the designated color used to honor women on this day, and I felt inspired to create something to celebrate us!

“I love to see a young girl go out and grab the world by the lapels. Life’s a bitch. You’ve got to go out and kick ass.” – Maya Angelou

Let’s get started:

Eye Lid

  1. Prime the eyelids and set with powder.
  2. Highlight the brow bone with shadow one. This can also be used for any cleanup.
  3. Blend shadow two all throughout the eye area. This is our transition shade to help all other colors blend smoothly.
  4. On a detailed blending brush, blend shade three into just the crease area. This is a bright color, so be sure to blend this thoroughly, and try not to be too messy with it. Like step two says, go in with shadow one again for any cleanup.
  5. Pack Shade four onto the outer corner for some slight dimension. .
  6. Wet a flat shader brush with shadow five and pack all over the lid.
  7. Place shade six into the inner corner and tear duct.

Lower Lashline

  1. Blend shade two all the way from inner to outer corner.
  2. Pack shadow three close to the eyelashes for definition.
  3. Place shade four on the outer corner and blend inward about a third of the way.
  4. Place a bronze eyeliner into the waterline.

That’s all I have for you guys today. Please remember to like, comment, and subscribe, it really helps me out. Also don’t forget to have a beautiful weekend.

Stay beautiful!
