Purple Mock Cut Crease Eye Tutorial

Hello my lovelies!

PurpleMockCutCreaseFace

I don’t know about you, but I love the look of the cut crease trend all over Instagram. I think that if done well, they’re incredibly clean and look amazing on almost any eye shape. Unfortunately, I was blessed with a serious lack of space between my brow bone and crease, so I don’t think a true cut crease will ever be in the cards for me. Also, they take SO MUCH EFFORT! I’m all about creating looks that are achievable for anyone, regardless of talent level, and while I have the ability to do a cut crease, a large majority of people don’t.

PurpleMockCutCreaseEyes

Insert: The mock cut crease. I think the biggest trick to achieving this is very precisely winging out the shadows, and placing them a little higher in your crease than normal. Personally, I like to get all messy with my outer corners, so that I’m not worried about intricate blending on the lids. I always do my eyes before my base, which makes creating the wing very easy; I just clean up any mess with foundation. My absolute favorite color is purple. I’ve had purple hair, purple nails, purple accessories, purple clothes, you name it, I probably own it in purple. I’m still holding out for a purple Iphone though, Apple, get with my program.

Let’s get started:

Eyelids:

  1. Prime and set the eyelids with the first shadow. A light shadow like this will help all the colors stand out even more. Always adjust based on your skin tone, or what you prefer.
  2. Mix shadows two and three, and blend into the uppermost part of the crease. Start to create a winged shape at the end.
  3. I borrowed the shade “Androgyny” from my JSC Androgyny palette, and blended that slightly lower into the crease and the outer corner, still following the winged shape.
  4. Focus shadow four onto the outer corner of the lid, and deepen the wing. Unlike most cut creases, we will not be dragging this into the crease, but you can if you want to. The reason I’m not doing this? I don’t want to have to carve out my crease with concealer.
  5. Take the first shadow and Pack onto the inner half of the eyelid. Clean up any messy blending that dragged downward from the crease.
  6. Using any black liner, create a thin bar across the lashline. You can totally wing this out with the shadow as well, but as I’ve discussed before, black wings aren’t really my thing.

Lower Lashline:

  1. Mix “Androgyny” and the fourth shade of this palette, and blend it 3/4 of the way to the inner corner.
  2. Tuck the first shade onto the inner corner and tear duct for a matte brightness. If you prefer a shimmery highlight, you are more than welcome to do so.

Other:

  1. Place a nude or white liner onto the waterline to add brightness and open the eyes.
  2. Curl and coat your lashes, apply falsies if that’s your thing.

That’s all I have for you guys today. Please remember to like, comment, and subscribe, it really helps me out. Also don’t forget to have a beautiful Saturday evening wherever you are.

Burgundy Eye Tutorial

Hello my lovelies!

MaroonFace

If anyone had spring break last week like I did, I hope you had a wonderful week! If your spring break is now or coming up soon, enjoy it while it lasts! I spent almost the entirety of my break sitting at home sick, and am still trying to get over it.

MaroonEyes

I think that this look is more appropriate for nighttime, but you can wear this whenever you feel like it. I am a staunch supporter of you do you.

Let’s get started:

Eyelid:

  1. Prime the eyelids and set from lid to brow bone.
  2. Carve out the crease with “Lula”, very slightly. the overall look is warm, and this shade leans more toward the cool side, so use carefully.
  3. Place “Violeta” onto the outer corner, blending inward to the crease as well.
  4. Pack “Muse” onto the middle of the eyelid, trying to stay away from the inner corner. Blend out both edges.
  5. With “Hollywood”, pack into the inner corner and blend into “Muse”, creating an ombre effect.

Lashline:

  1. Blend “Violeta” across the entire lashline. Place more color on the outer corner, then lightly blend inward for the same ombre effect.

Extras:

  1. Highlight the tear duct with a gold toned highlighter.
  2. Apply a brown or cream colored liner into the water line.
  3. Curl and coat your lashes with mascara. Apply false lashes if you’d prefer.

That’s all I have for you guys today. Please remember to like, comment, and subscribe, it really helps me out. Also don’t forget to have a lovely start to your week, I hope the weather in your area is better than here!

Digs and Duds

October Digs and Duds

Hello my lovelies!

I wanted to start a new project for this blog, called “Digs and Duds” commonly known as favorites! I wanted a title with some alliteration to it, as I am an English nerd, so I figured this winner out.

Anyway, let’s get started:

Digs

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfecter in Champagne Pop – This highlighter is basically my life. I may be pale, and the highlighter may be a darker color, but it looks SO good on any skin tone, and the pigmentation is insane.

Make Up For Ever HD pressed powder – I love the finish of this powder, and I love that I don’t look like a gigantic cake face when I use it. It’s especially great for oily skin sufferers.

OPI classic shade in Taupe-less beach – I have been obsessed with this nail color for a couple weeks now. I love neutral nails for fall and this is a perfect purple-gray color for us pale skinned girls.

Sephora Collection Bright Future Gel Serum Concealer – Disclaimer, I don’t love this product as an under eye concealer. However, I do love it for concealing spots. It really stays on and gets rid of any redness I have from an acne spot.

Polo Ralph Lauren Black Puffer Vest – I got this amazing puffer vest at Marshall’s for a whopping 18 dollars, so I’m not sure if it’s actually purchasable anymore. I love the warmth it gives me and how soft and amazing it looks and feels. You can take a look at this vest on my OOTD and exercise tips post!

“Appreciated” by Rixton – I just like Rixton in general, and this new song of theirs is my everything. I pretty much listen to it over and over, and I’m sure I’ll get sick of it shortly, but for now, I’m going to sing my heart out to it.

Jalapeno Popper Chicken – Oh my lord was this dish amazing. As a gluten free girl, I miss a wide array of fried foods terribly, and this chicken tasted almost exactly like a regular popper. Find it under my “successful Recipes I’ve Tried” board on Pinterst at zfranzen/

Duds

Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes Lash Fibers – I don’t really need lash fibers in my life, but I got some Tarte goodies as part of a points reward gift from Sephora. Not only does the fiber NOT cling to your lashes properly, it’s going to forever be in your eyeballs and cause an awful amount of pain. I thought to myself “maybe I didn’t apply them right”, so I tried again, and sure enough, the same thing happened. This kind of broke my heart because I love Tarte’s mascaras.

Covergirl Star Wars Lipsticks – Honestly, I hate all Covergirl products to begin with, but I loved the colors in the collection so I had to try a few. Not only is the formula lacking, but the pigmentation leaves something to be desired as well.

Sonia Kashuk Eye Couture Eye Palette Eye on Neutral 02 – I wanted to like this palette so badly, because I love most Sonia Kashuk products. Unfortunately, the eyeshadows have zero color payoff. I have yet to find quality drugstore eyeshadow palettes that aren’t Nyx, because as much as I love Nyx, I have a hard time calling it a drugstore brand.

Ok that’s all for today! Remember to Like, comment, subscribe, share, and most importantly, have a wonderful day.

Stay Beautiful!
